This live session for Lana Nauphal’s song “Something in the Rain” was shot and released in April 2023. Samuel Mitchell, the project’s Director of Photography, collaborated with Lana Nauphal on a refined visual concept that would lend itself to highlighting Nauphal’s songwriting and performance. They worked on capturing long takes of the performance to maintain an immersive experience — keeping the audience present in the room with the artist. Muhil Vaseekaran, the project’s Assistant Camera and Gaffer, helped create a large, simple, and soft lighting environment that worked to emphasize the natural light of the space. The video has amassed over 6k views on YouTube.
