Exploring themes of grief, abandonment, and fatherhood, “Ode to the Taste of Wild Strawberries” follows a young man named Wyatt on a walk with his father as he recalls three memories from their shared past. The film was completed as Samuel Mitchell’s thesis film for the Advanced Experimental Production Workshop at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, though the film used equipment entirely sourced from Trustfall Studios.
